juggling school stuff, ministry stuff, and my own spiritual walk is kinda difficult. i mean, i know that it shouldn't be. i should focus on my own spiritual walk and have the faith that the other stuff will fall into place. but yeah, i'd appreciate your prayers. =]

so i'll admit it, one of my big flaws is that i look up to people to much. i tend to get caught up with appearances and put too much value in people's affirmation. still, if there is one person that i want to be like, it would have to be calvin. first off, he's just so respected and well-liked. i don't know anyone who he doesn't make an impression on ... hmm ... sure there may be more spiritually more mature people that i could look up to, but i just see how much cal loves God and loves people. i see him reach out to people with so much love. you can tell that he hurts with people that hurt ... he goes out of his way to talk to those that seem lonely. but more than that, he has such a humble spirit. he's broken before God and is always sensitive to areas in his life that need growth. his joy is found in God and God alone. he's honest about his struggles ... i see him striving to love God more, serve Him more ... i just see in him a man seeking after God's heart. and wow. that's powerful. i'm striving to follow his example, not because i'm putting him on such a high pedestal or anything, but really just 'cuz i can tell he's following after Christ's example. just as paul told the corinthians to follow his example as he was following after Christ, so i kinda look to cal's example. i still don't know cal very well, but God's just blessed me so much through him. wow. what awesome brothers God's blessed me with ... hopefully i can use these brothers' examples and encouragement to become a better man of God.
