got a new phone ... purty, purty. =] very spiffy. bonfire tomorrow! =D i'm very tired for some reason. i haven't heard this song, but the lyrics are AWESOME. i totally agree ... worship begins with seeing God. mm ... talk to me about this. =] lyrics by matt redman, his explanation of the song follows. =] Seeing You This is a time for seeing and singing, This is a time for breathing You in And breathing out Your praise Our hearts respond to Your revelation All You are showing, all we have seen Commands a life of praise No one can sing of things they have not seen God open our eyes towards a greater glimpse The glory of You, the glory of You God open our eyes towards a greater glimpse Worship starts with seeing You Worship starts with seeing You Our hearts respond to Your revelation Worship starts with seeing You Worship starts with seeing You Our hearts respond to Your revelation Seeing You I’ve never written a song that has felt quite as conceptual as this one. I’ve been teaching for a while on the concept that in worship, a response is always the result of revelation. So often in worship we focus on response, but it’s really important as lead worshippers that we plug into revelation - because that’s is the fuel for response. When you fill your worship times with revelation, the response takes care of itself. I don’t think we can really sing about anything meaningful, spiritual, real and deep until we’ve seen something of God. It’s about inhaling the wonder of God and breathing out His praise. The purest form of worship happens when we’ve glimpsed something of the glory of God. ~Matt Redman *** =] *** went to kenny's today and played cards with him, oleg, and michael. good times, good times. =] scattered stars -bj
so i made brownies today for the dessert potluck at aacf ... i didn't have the right size pan, though. it said to use a 8x8 or 9x9 pan, but i only had a 13x8 ... so i used two boxes of brownie mix ... then i didn't know how long to bake it ... so i took it out after half an hour, not wanting to overbake it ... let it cool, cut it, but it was really gooey. haha ... i stuck it back in the oven, but then found out that i needed to be at aacf forty-five minutes early for drama team practice. so i ended up leaving the brownies at home and i didn't even get to bring them to aacf. =[ sigh ... (they're fine now ... haha. a little on the gooey side, but they hold together and are quite yummy. =P) aacf was awesome today. praise God! having a semi-reunion of the suitemates tomorrow! haha ... i remember when we used to play cards every friday afternoon ... sigh. those were fun times. =] gonna be good to see kenny again ... haven't seen him for a while. i see / talk to oleg enough ... haha ... but it will be good hanging out with him for a while too today was so awesome 'cuz jason yu said he might step up and be a discipler and / or small group leading. praise God! went to soda yesterday to program. did i already mention that? haha. yayyy ... finished hw0 almost a week early. haha ... well, it wasn't that hard, i guess ... =P cs170 is gonna be crazy. pray for me. =/ i like people who use their names as part of their screen name in a witty way. my friend, jeff yin's screen name is yinNout. my friend, jenn pung's screen name is pungchingbag. haha ... i need a witty screen name like that. i could be ... DangerousLeeaisons. HAHAHA. freshmen are fun ... they have a youthful exuberance and excitement about everything. haha ... especially mike ... who is uber cool. pastor josh, the college pastor at first pres, is uber cool too. he's australian. hopefully i'll be able to meet up with him sometime and discuss how aacfers can get plugged into first pres and how first pres people can get hooked up with aacf (for those who are looking for an asian-american group of brothers and sisters) yayyy ... bonfire on saturday. gonna be sweeeeeet ... =] i got a stuffed bear today. he's dressed as a pumpkin. angie named him "jack". =P oh, and a note to stephen ... blogging only takes me a couple of minutes, tops. haha ... it just flows. it's weird ... i sit down, start typing, and random things just come to me ... and i post whatever comes to mind. =P saved me from myself -bj

stephen says i'm losing my touch. i must retain my title of blogging king ... soooooo ... i shall post more to please stephen. =P first off, this made me LOL. i never say "lol" 'cuz i think it's stupid ... but this article actually made me lol. =P so random. =P mm ... i went to soda today to program. sigh. sad. it's onlyl the third day of instruction. =/ bah. watched part of the republican national convention today, too. i found it quite interesting. =] a girl had seizures today in bio. the professor got freaked out and told everyone to call 911. i'm glad the girl seemed okay, though. still quite disturbing. i had this extreme case of dejavu in bio today ... it was so weird. it's like i heard the lecture before and viewed the slides before too. i then went home to do research on dejavu ... still not sure what causes it or what it means. one website i read suggested it means your brain is tired. hahaha. i don't think i need dejavu to know that. =P had a good talk with stephen yesterday. first time i've talked to him in forever. boo, vir can't make it up to berkeley this week. =/ i'm in the aacf drama this week. come! tomorrow. 7-9:30pm, 105 north gate. two of my friends just "got together" ... i'm really happy for them. =]]]]] so cute. (sidenote: i don't really know what "got together" means. my friend IMed me and just said "hey, me and (so-and-so) are together." it's ambiguous when people say that 'cuz it means different things to different people. i think it means that they're bf / gf ... a step above dating. :-P) tim & dave = awesome brothers. i'm kinda realizing that i'm a selfish guy. =/ i gotta learn to be a better steward of my money ... some guy asked me for money today ... and i gave him some ... 'cuz he looked at me eye-to-eye and walked a block or two with me ... so i felt bad turning him down ... gah. then i just felt retarded th rest of the day for giving him money. =[ haha ... stephen probably knows what i'm talking about. john is a funny guy. =P TONY WU LIVES IN MY APARTMENT BUILDING! whoa. so random. yay, large group tomorrow! i get to meet new freshies! praise God, i have partners for 186! i'll be working with tim and josh. yayyyyy. =P tim's pretty good at programming, i think ... he just procrastinates ... i've only talked to josh a couple of times at aacf (he doesn't come regularly), but he seems like a cool (and smart) guy. =P zeeho is bringing her fondue pot to the dessert potluck tomorrow. ooooooh. fondue. made spinach again today. very tasty. i love spinach ... and veggies in general. =] WHOA ... haha ... it's like i had all of these posts pent up inside of me. =P happy, stephen? blog king once more! to arms -bj

i made spinach today! fresh spinach, too. =]]] it was sooooo good. again, a little too salty, and a little too much oil ... but i'm learning. =] it tasted like how my grandma makes spinach. =] john cheng is a funny guy. =P it's weird how similar we are. but then again, i think a lot of people are like me ... so ... maybe we're not that similar after all. =P cs186 seems pretty interesting. =] databases are pretty cool. cs170 seems disgustingly gross. efficient algorithms and intractable problems are definitely un-cool. =P my legal studies class seems like it will be pretty interesting ... my bio class seems like it won't be very interesting ... but not too bad either ... hopefully ... just around the riverbend -bj
