final tomorrow morning, but i had to post this passage that i have been meditating on ... "We wait in hope for the LORD; He is our help and our shield. In Him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in His holy name. May Your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord, even as we put our hope in You." (Psalms 33:20-22) i've been going through psalms, and i've noticed recurring phrases ... "wait on the Lord", "hope in the Lord", "refuge in Him", "unfailing love" ... and this passage covers three of them ... brief thoughts ... i'll expound later ... after my final, perhaps. -waiting on the Lord - waiting for deliverence, waiting for God to act, waiting for God to lead you on -hope for the Lord. hope leads to faith. hope is grounded in truth (not blind faith or blind hope). hope is something you profess, not something you keep to yourself. ("let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess") -unfailing love - the basis for our hope my hope is You -bj
so i told jo that i wouldn't be a counselor at the bay area asian youth fellowship camp this summer. =[ it would have been fun though. =P i applied for three jobs yesterday ... i like online applications. they're a lot easier than doing 'em in person. anyhoo ... yeah. they took a while to fill out too ... and i don't even know if they have openings ... but at least they'll have my application. haha. i applied at best buy, jamba juice, and princeton review. :-P anyone else know of any other place w/ online applications? w00t. i went to two ee40 reviews today ... the reviews make the material seem pretty doable ... but i know sanders will make the final yucky and hard. =[ brave a hurricane -bj
from calvin "In the context of a compassionate embrace, our brokenness may appear beautiful, but our brokenness has no other beauty but the beauty that comes from the compassion that surrounds it." -The Return of the Prodigal Son by Nouwen p. 35 yay. i like it. today ... two ee40 reviews ... more ee20 studying ... briefly looking over my history stuff ... blahahahaha. dude, i was supposed to go to sushi house today for nancy's bday ... =[ oh well, oh well. stupid finals. tim also invited me to sushi house two days ago ... =[ FINALS STINK. =P i should be happy -bj

tim's gonna be someone whose friendship i value for the rest of my life. he's one caring brother, and he gives me good, godly advice. i really like caedmon's call's lyrics. =] THOUSAND MILES words and music by Aaron Senseman i have stolen, Lord, let me give i have left Your house a fugitive i have wandered my own way squandered everything You gave but my dying heart You saved and let me live i have cursed the air and clenched my fists i have hungered for Your righteousness i have tried to walk the line i drew between Your heart and mine but You forgive me every time the mark is missed so take my broken offering and make it whole and set my feet upon the road that leads me home let me walk as one fixed upon the goal even though i've got a thousand milse to go i have sought Your grace in my defense i have plundered Your magnificence until my journey is complete i pray the Lord my soul to keep that i might sow what i have reaped from Your great love so take my broken offering and make it whole and set my feet upon the road that leads me home let me walk as one fixed upon the goal even though i've got a thousand miles to go as i struggle for Your hand You use me in ways i can't understand You take this sinful man and renew me working through me halfway there -bj

man. i hate finals and i hate studying for them ... blah. jini had two tickets to the suites (i think the luxury suites) at pacbell park today ... dude. i wanted to go ... too bad i have to study. =[ boo to finals. booooo, i say! =P on a brighter note, she's trying to get tickets for me and eric to go to the fireworks game the saturday after i'm done with finals. =] jini felt happy 'cuz she knew that eric and i probably wouldn't get to see each other much once he goes off to med school. hahaha. so sweet. =P argh ... i wanna go to a luxury suite ... hmmmm. boooooo to finals. boo, i say. i'm alright -bj
today i had accountability w/ dave and henry at the crossroads dc ... one of our best accountability sessions, i'd say. =] it was really aweseome ... plus dave and henry will probably co-lead a small group next year! dude ... i'm so excited about that ... haha. it'll be hilarious watching them lead one, but i know God can and will totally use them should they choose to do it. =] cman came over today. i miss hanging out with her. =] she's great. =D timma came over too ... we talked about different stuff ... then he prayed for me. an awesome guy, that timma. =] fledgling -bj

i'm sad, sad, sad. =[ today was my last day of discipleship with eric. man, i love that guy. i hope he gets into ucsf ... then i can see him if i wanted / needed. he's in the top 50 on the waitlist, so he has a pretty good shot of getting in ... otherwise he'll head off to ucla ... somewhere much, much further away. =[ lalalalalala (guess what song that's from. =P) -bj
whoa ... blogger says i have 850+ posts to this blog. w00t. considering i've had this for a little more than a year, that's pretty impressive. hahaha. 2-3 posts a day, on average. from Ben

a pet peeve of mine ... i don't like people that try to change my mind about things. usually my no's mean yea's mean yea and my nay's mean nay. trying to convince me to change my mind usually reinforces my stubborness and just gets me straight-out irritated. =/ if you know me at all, you know this first-hand. (or you should at least. =P) the end of the road -bj

trying to study like a MANIAC okay, the word 'maniac' is not probably the best word to describe that link, but there you go. =] if dreams were like commercials -bj
=] i met w/ my sg today for the last time, i think. it was great ... we gave tim the gifts we got him ... a 5 foot-long flower, a book on worship, and a food processor. he seemed to really like it ... =] then we played a lot of weird guy games. haha ... you can ask me about it. i have pictures, but you're not allowed to see it. =P anyone wanna read this book and tell me if it's any good? boytoy really likes it. the book is online ... here... never love that way again -bj

lemme just say that i'm running on three hours of sleep. +p this morning i was so out of it. (and i still am out of it) ... i wrote my message to po-po on my other grandma's card. i put on tennis shoes to go to church ... i was swerving out of my lane driving here. i forgot my backpack. ;-) hahaha. yeah, i'm tired. sory if this post doesn't make much sense. i should be sleeping in the car right now, waiting for church to start, but i wanted to post about my day yesterday. yesterday was the AACF BANQUET. haha ... normally i don't like these sorts of things, but yesterday was a BLAST. a BLAST. =P i think i like being involved ... so yesterday the new servant team (next year's people on leadership) were allowed to serve the meals to people ... that was a lot of fun ... the food was awesome too. dan kuo is a superb chef. haha ... some weird salad (very good though), mashed potatoes, grilled zucchini & squash, and pot roast. the pot roast was SO GOOD ... not dry or anything and it had really good flavor. =] oh yeah ... and CREPES! =P the night went well ... we had an awesome time of worship ... mark, theresa, justin louie, tim, and dave tsai did an awesome job. =] then we had a time of thanking the old leadership ... and then the new leadership went up for leadership commissioning ... it was pretty cool having dave share a few words with us and praying for us. =] after that, the freshies shared their skit imitating the freshmen. it was pretty good ... a lot of the freshies really nailed the seniors they were portraying ... haha. like kim as aimee and john as justin louie. =P it was really good ... they portrayed the seniors as if they were in survivor, asian american idol, and the lord of the rings. haha ... really funny. then they ended it by choreographing "love the Lord" ... =D then the juniors presented the seniors with senior gifts and said a lil something about each of them. it was really sweet ... then the seniors presented their senior skit ... it was hilarious. haha ... the seniors did a really good job. =] finally, the night ended with the aacf slideshow ... it was awesome just seeing pics from throughout the year ... good stuff. =] then ... cleanup ... and lots and lots of picture taking. haha. =P i'll try to steal some pics and maybe post 'em later. =D i then drove the freshies back to foothill ('cuz i was driving the pilot) ... and then boytoy, helen, dave tsai, and john tang back to their homes ... the banquet ended like at 11, but with cleanup, pictures, and driving people home, i didn't get home until 3. =P but it was worth it. AWESOME night. =] there's more i wanna say, but i'm kinda pooped ... so ... yeah. later. =P oh wait, i'll say this ... i'll really miss james and eric the most out of the senior class. =] even though eric was an embarrassment 'cuz everyone was all dressed up ... the girls all looked amazing and the guys were all spiffed up in their shirts, slacks, and ties ... eric comes in in jeans. hahaha. =P but yeah ... he's great. and so is james. james looked like a golfer ... with a tie on. =P but those two guys are the AWESOMEST. =P Your glory goes on -bj
