i'm pooped.

chi cut my hair today.

chi: "ooooh ... this is so fun!"
"man, it's so much easier cutting round heads." (chi has an oddly-shaped head. =P)

today i went to the women's tea to help out ... me, alex, timma, jeff, john, eddy, justin, and dan all went to help setup, pour tea, and serve the food. man ... the girls went all out ... candles, flowers, an all-girl worship team ... and AWESOME food. oh man ... cucumber & mint sandwiches, roastbeef sandwiches, russian tea cakes, crab-salad crackers with mint, mini quiche, fruit tarts ... so much other stuff ... and all in dainty little bite sizes! haha. all the girls were dressed up too. (i wore michael's clothes 'cuz i didn't have any dressy clothes in my apt) ... yeah ... we got to eat some of the food once they were done ... it was fun though ... walking table to table offering tea / food ... =] fun stuff. =D now i'm packing up, getting ready to go home.

i love alex and timma. =]

yesterday night, alex invited me over for deenar ... he made some halibut with strawberries and honey. (o.0) haha ... it was pretty good, actually ... i was pleasantly surprised. =] jeff was there for a little meeting with tim about the worship ministry next year ... oh yeah, vicky was there also ... so we played hold 'em ... i got knocked out pretty early ... going all-in on a bluff. hahaha. NUTS! =P then kim came over ... played some more hold 'em ... then we moved to BRIDGE. the manly man's game ... haha ... it was a bit more even this time ... alex and i did not dominate vicky and kim as much. =] lots of fun ... we were watching iron chef america while we were playing. hahaha. =] played lots of deuces ... vicky tried dying alex's hair blue ... it didn't work ...

had an AWESOME talk with tim ... such a great bro ... shared w/ him about my contact evangelism experience and about how i was feeling about being a discipler ... he talked about stuff God's been teaching him lately and kind of his vision for next year's worship ministry ... i kinda shared about my vision for the spiritual foundations ministry ... he gave suggestions for small group material ... it was just an awesome time talking with him ... haha ... i didn't wanna leave ... and of course he drove me home (as usual) ... even though i didn't want him to 'cuz i stayed pretty late ... haha ... and i thought he should just go to sleep. =P

today ... serving food / tea at the women's retreat thingy. should be ... interesting ... especially 'cuz i'll be wearing my roommate's clothes. =P

contact evangelism is very challenging ... but a hugggggggggggggggge blessing. =]

i went out with this guy named jude from east bay baptist church ... (i think) ... he was really, really awesome ... there were fifteen or so people that gathered to do contact evangelism today ... so we broke up into pairs (or groups of three) ... where one person would be the designated "talker" or "sharer" and the other person (or persons) would pray. since i was new, i prayed while jude shared ... so we saw this guy lounging under a tree at memorial glade ... went over to him and asked if we could talk about stuff ... so we did. he was an awesome guy. his name was lorenzo ... he was HILARIOUS ... yeah, i prayed silently (with my eyes open ... haha) while jude just shared ... lorenzo was really encouraging 'cuz he was very open and receptive ... he even told us how encouraged he was by the things we were sharing with him. he had a background with Christianity (his uncle is a pastor) but he seemed to have parts of the gospel message confused ... believing that you need to be a good person to be saved ... stuff like that. we ended up giving him our phone numbers so he could call us if he wanted to talk more. (i think he probably will call us, too. =P)

next, we saw this other guy on the other side of memorial glade ... it was cool. he was visiting berkeley actually ... he was very, very intelligent and really enjoyed talking about philosophy ... it was very difficult talking with him because he had very tough questions and spoke very abstractly ... he kept pointing out how things are all based on circular reasoning ... he kept asking how we knew the Bible is the Word of God ... stuff like that ... i found myself praying that God would give Jude the perfect answer to all his questions ... an answer that would just shoot down the guy's philosophy ... then i remembered what we studied at small group a couple of weeks ago ... we can plant the seed and water, but God causes the growth ... it really was good for me to remember that ... so yeah. i was really trying to understand where the guy was coming from, but he was just so intelligent. haha ... =] anyway, it was really good talking to him ... i was able to walk him to bart, too ('cuz he didn't know where it was) ... so i asked him about his family and stuff ... so i got a glimpse into his background ... so that was good. =]

so yeah ... i really need to study the Word more ... and memorize Scripture ... that would be good. but i really hope to do more contact evangelism in the future ... it was such a blessing ... i think that's what i learned from today's experienece ... i'm capable of doing contact evangelism ... jude was just very friendly, very informal, very open and honest ... i hope to do the same when i find myself ready to be the sharer. =]

more undignified than this

yayzor. yesterday was good ... it was like the first night in a long, long time that i didn't have much to do ... so what did i do?

i went to go PLAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! haha. i ran up to foothill ... chilled at boytoy's room for a while ... then went to the lounge where jeff, john, angus, and alex were ... played some pool, played some ping-pong ... it was great ... then helen came down ... played some ping-pong with her ... then katina showed up and said "can we worship?" IT'S ALWAYS A GOOD TIME TO WORSHIP! so angus brought down his geetar and jeff played while i played keyboard ... haha ... we play pretty well together, i think ... considering we've never played together before ... so we played like ten to twelve songs ... it was AWESOME ... then we decided to go visit Dan at Cory ... he's always at cory ... =P poor dan. yar ... then alex drove me home and i hopped into bed. =]

posted this in my xanga, too:

took boytoy out to deenar yesterday ... hua hin. some thai place. it was pretty good. =] afterwards we went back to my apt and he helped fix up my comp. haha. i really gotta reformat sometime ... =P

two exciting things happened yesterday:
1) diana asked me to go out for contact evangelism tomorrow. crikey!
2) boytoy asked me to disciple him. yowza!

note about #2: i've felt a burden to disciple someone, so i've been praying for a discipler ... didn't know that boytoy wanted a discipler though ... he didn't know i was thinking about discipling either. my only hesitation about discipling him is that we're already pretty close friends. i don't want our friendship coming in the way of me really being able to help him grow ... but i think God will really work it out. we'll see ... still thinking / praying about it.

it PAYS to BLOG ... so i will blog lots. =]

yesterday
so today is michael and boytoy's birthday ... =] yesterday at midnight, chi and i decide to spray michael with a squirt bottle to celebrate. haha ... lame, i know ... but we didn't have a pie or something to throw at him. haha ... a little after midnight, alex, kim, and i go to safeway to pick up soda / ice cream to bring to foothill ... a bunch of the foothillbillies come over and we surprise boytoy ... dogpile him again (of course) and squirt him with my squirtbottle and a squirt gun ... haha ... good times. later in the night, we all surround boytoy, lift him up, and drag him under the shower ... unfortunately the shower had a detachable head ... so he ended up spraying the shower back at us ... so i think i got more wet than he did. it was funny though ... 'cuz he sprayed us, and we all dropped him to run out of the bathroom to avoid getting wet ... so he fell on his bummmmm. hahaha. good times, though.

today
good time of discipleship w/ eric again ... talked about a lot of stuff ... from spiritual gifts, to the history of israel ... to end times ... it was really cool. then i went to cs ... i sit down, and jeff comes by and throws a quiznos sandwhich at me. oh man ... what great guys. turns out tim, john, and jeff went and picked up a whole bunch of their three dollar sandwhiches ... so they gave me one when i came in ... gave one to jontsai too ... oh man. such love. =]

see? i knew blogging would pay off. =P

anyhoo ... aacf was good today ... as usual. =P met an oldie from last year ... cool talking with him. the guys dogpiled boytoy since his b-day is tomollo. that was fun. =] i was second from the top so it was very un-painful for me. =P ummm ... they announced new leadership ... =] i'm excited. haha ... it's kinda scary standing up in front of everyone though ... guess i should get used to it ... everyone made fun of me 'cuz i'm only a lil bit taller than connie ... who is really short. =P sooooooo ... yeah. people joked that it really is a "SMALL" group ministry. booooo to them. haha. =] tim led a worship set and mark led his last worship set at aacf (he's graduating) ... so it was really, really good. =] then .... hmmm ... dan drove me home. MAN ... i mean, i'm really touched that people care about me and don't want me walking home alone ... but i really like walking. haha ... and everyone's always like, "oh no, bryan's trying to walk home again. someone stop him! who wants to drive bryan home?" haha ... i mean, it's really nice of them, though ... so can't complain, i guess. =]

"This is really weird!

Here's something that you may enjoy:

Have you ever wondered if your mind is normal or
different?? Well, do this little mind exercise and
find out at the end!! Free will or synaptic wiring?
You be the judge. Check out the following exercise,
guaranteed to raise an eyebrow. There's no trick or
surprise. Just follow these instructions, and answer
the questions one at a time and as quickly as you can.
Again, as quickly as you can but don't advance until
you've done each of them...really. Now, scroll down
(but not too fast, you might miss something)........

What is:

1+5

2+4

3+3

4+2

5+1

Now repeat saying the number 6 to yourself as fast as
you can for 15 seconds.

Then scroll down.

QUICK!!! THINK OF A VEGETABLE!

Then arrow down.

You're thinking of carrot, right?

If not, you're among the 2% of the population whose
minds are different enough to think of something else.

98% of people will answer with carrot when given this
exercise.

Broccoli, Carrot and Tomato are the 3 most common
vegatables thought up by people.

Freaky, huh?"
-------------------------

i told jeff to do it too. he said eggplant i was like "dude you're weird it's supposed to be carrot. I got strawberry".... STRAWBERRY.

and then jeff told me that strawberry IS NOT (once again, IS NOT) a vegetable. X_X i didnt even notice .. heh i must be tired. the "synaptic wiring" in my head must be wayyyy messed up then. sheeeesh.

***
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH. jeff and john are hilarious! "i got eggplant." "i got strawberry." HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
