today was sooooooooooo awesome. praise God! everyone had fun, the weather was perfect, people got to meet new people, the pictures were GREAT. =P i love the freshmen and sophomores at aacf. =] but you know that you're toxic -bj 
week recap: so this past week was probably the most CRAZY week i've ever been through. it was definitely NOT FUN. yet, at the same time, i got a firsthand glimpse of God's faithfulness ... short story: 2 all-nighters (12am-7:30 am sunday night and 1am - 6:30 am tuesday night), 1 project, 2 midterms, 2 homework assignments, 1 insanely long ee lab. but God was faithful. short story (i may give the long story later): was able to share the gospel with this guy i met. awesome time hanging out with tim in soda and cooking for small group. an incredibly encouraging time spent in discipleship with eric. my ee40 lab was CANCELLED and my ee40 hw and cs61c labs were very easy. awesome dinner with eric thursday night and a not-too-bad history midterm. so yeah, it's been a week of high highs and low lows ... but through it all i just saw the hand of God at work. it was awesome! =] *** TODAY WAS AWESOME. well, after 6 at least ... i had carebears from 4-6 ... and at 6, i went to tim and alex's ... 'cuz tim invited me over for dinner. (awww ... what a sweet guy. =P) ... so yeah, me, tim, alex, and jeff shieh were hanging out ... playing texas hold'em ... watching bball ... good stuff. tim made korean short-ribs and some alfredo pasta. really good stuff ... then joellen came over ... played some mahjong and stuff ... then vicky came over ... and we planned for tomorrow's scavenger hunt ... highlights ... jumping on tim, hearing tim and vicky play geetar, me and alex making a vicky sandwich ... winning in monopoly ... (hotels on boardwalk and park place BABY! =P) haha ... good times, good times. it's weird how comfortable i feel at tim and alex's ... it's just like being in my own apartment ... and alex was nice and drove me home. =] yeah ... it was an awesome way to unwind after a really long week. =] g'day mate! -bj

so eric took me out to dinner today. =] thai house. yum. i think i have a knack for getting to know people ... or maybe eric is just easy to get to know. here's what i know about him so far. (we've only met twice ... three times if you count today for dinner) eric w. chak ... jason yu calls him "chakky" ... =] his birthday's on 8/2/1982 ... his best friend is also named eric ... his birthday is on 8/3/1983 ... weird, huh? =P he has a dog named arthur ... and his dog is 8 or 9 months old ... he's from hercules ... his dad was born in china, came here for college ... went to the university of wisconsin ... came to CA where he met eric's momma ... eric's an only child ... goes to hilltop church ... i forget what city ... but it's kinda behind a mall (in the bad area of town). his dad was one of the early leaders that helped start the church ... eric's involved with the high-school fellowship at his church. he leads a small group and leads worship sometimes. eric's roommate's name is matt. he's not a Christian. he just moved in with matt this semester ... before that he lived in evans manor by himself ... both he and matt have meal plans. =P he's only taking 7 units this semester ... gonna graduate at the end of may. he's probably going to be going to ucla med school next year. last summer he studied abroad in mexico ... took guitar lessons for $50 for the whole summer ... plays guitar left-handed ... (he's cool like that. more on that later) he also plays a lot of baseball ... but he bats and throws right-handed 'cuz when he was learning (in little league) they just assumed everyone was right-handed. =P in his free time, he's either at the rsf (treadmill / bike), prepping for his small group or a Bible study lesson for me, playing guitar, or playing his gamecube. =P (metroid, soul calibur, final fantasy) heh heh ... uhm ... yeah. anyway, now you know all about my ultra-cool discipler. so today at dinner, we were discussing lefty-oppression ... haha. since we're both lefties ... =P i didn't realize so many people at aacf were lefties ... me, ben, boytoy, eric, andrew, angus ... eric was sharing some people's theory about a lefty gene ... and that if you have the lefty gene, you have a 50-50% chance of having it turned on ... that's why angus is a lefty and brian (his identical twin brother) is a righty ... but yeah. interesting theory. eric's a very encouraging person ... it's really cool being with him. =] i know God's totally gonna bless our time together. you know how i know? okay, this may sound stupid ... but it's the fact that he's left-handed. lemme explain ... so early last semester ben e-mails me to have lunch with him ... (ben was the co-leader of my small group) ... he and tim were each taking a couple of guys out to eat so they could get to know us before we actually met for small group. i was kinda nervous ... i didn't know who ben was ... i wasn't sure if i'd enjoy small group ... but yeah, i met him at tako sushi ... saw a guy sitting in there kinda looking around expectantly .. sat down with him. boytoy came later (that's the first time i met him, too) ... we start talking ... i was still kinda nervous / intimidated ... then we realize that we're all left-handed. for some reason, that gave me a lot of peace ... having something in common with these bros ... then we realized that we're also similar in that the three of us were cantonese, engineers, and from the south bay ... and from a Christian family ... so from that point on ... i just knew that God was gonna bless me through small groups ... so today when i found out that eric's a lefty too ... hahah ... i'm just waiting expectantly to see how God's gonna work in and through the two of us. =] k, i know that sounds kinda lame ... but yeah. kinda cool, though. =] eric's a lot like ben ... and he's a lot like me, too ... i can relate to him ... i'm glad God gave me the opportunity to be discipled by him. =] if i ain't got you -bj

rts: turn in ee hw. today's been a pretty long and semi-stressful day ... and i don't normally get stressed very easily ... but yeah. =/ i think i'll go take a nap now. maybe i'll feel better after that ... oh yeah, i hate ee20 with all of my heart. it seems like such a pointless class. =/ love unfailing -bj

i have tim-med myself out today. haha ... after spending 8 hours with tim in soda, he picked me up from my apartment today at around 4 to go grocery shopping with him for small group today ... we had curry chicken/potatoes/carrots/onions ... not bad ... =] but yeah, i went grocery shopping with him, then went back to his apartment to help him cook ... then had small group with him. so all-in-all, i spent 1am-7:30am and 4pm-10pm with tim. it's a good thing we get along ... =P so tired ... gonna study for my ee midterm and then go to sleep. gladness for mourning -bj
i just came back from my first all-nighter of the semester. =/ i went to soda at around 1 last night ... came back at 7:30 today ... bah. yeah, i was working on my project with timma ... =/ we didn't get very far ... haha ... boytoy was with us, too .... he was working on his essay. at around 5 we took a one hour break and played pool in foothill ... other than that ... yeah. lots of programming. =/ i'm kinda drained right now ... it'll be a long day/night. give me love -bj
