home. =] a little sick ... lots of work to do. missed girls' appreciation nite ... hope everything went well. =] mozilla firefox is awesome. =] i love it. the backwarding and fowarding of webpages isn't as efficient as in opera, but it's still pretty neat nonetheless ... and the ctrl+k for google searches is GREAT! =] now i can delete the google toolbar from my toolbar thingy at the bottom of my screen. =] not looking foward to this cs project ... =/ it's kinda fun preparing to lead Bible studies ... but it's a lot of work. it makes me grateful for all the work tim puts into preparing for small group every monday. and to do it every week ... wow. i don't think i'm leading until next, next monday and i've already spent a lot of time preparing ... i wonder when eric will contact me ... maybe i'll just talk to him at lg on tuesday ... if i make it to lg ... haha. stupid cs project. =P accountability w/ the boys was good today. thanks, God. =] had a poetry night yesterday. =P i had the urge to recite poetry so i looked up all these old poems and read them outloud ... partly just to annoy chi, michael, and jini. =P you know poetry that rhymes is an under-appreciated art form. the highwayman, the cremation of sam mcgee, the albatross, and the spider and the fly are great poems. heh heh ... ;o) you and i collide -bj

meh. week's almost over ... next week will be PAINFUL. =/ i enjoyed the ee40 lab today. i understood what was going on ... haha ... =P it was just the prelab that held tiff and i back ... other than that, i'd say we did pretty well on the lab. =] cs was ... meh. oh well, the guy with i work with in the lab, raymond, is pretty cool. =] yesterday jini shared with me how she became a Christian. it was great. =] you know what's a very cool website? yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! i got a discipler! and he's cooooooooooooooool! it's eric. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! he's the guy i met at norcal retreat. heh heh. edit: haha ... i can't stop smiling ... man, i'm so excited ... it's so unexpected, too. for the longest time, they kept saying that they were short disciplers at aacf ... and earlier last semester i was kinda getting bummed that all the people that i thought would be good disciplers for me were being taken ... but when calvin IMmed me today and asked if i was still interested in being discipled ... and then told me that my discipler would be eric (i dunno if it's eric or erik. haha ... well, i'm sure i'll have plenty of time to figure it out) it was such an awesome feeling ... it's great 'cuz i know God will definitely use eric to help me grow ... and it's great 'cuz from what little i know of him, our personalities are very similar ... heh heh ... i know that shouldn't be a reason for getting a discipler, but i think it's pretty cool ... heh heh ... praise God. wow ... i mean, nothing's official yet ... eric just told calvin that he was interested in being a discipler ... calvin asked me if i still wanted one ... now calvin's gonna tell eric to contact me. heh heh ... awww sweet. i just hope i have time to meet with him on a regular basis ... but i know that if this is something God wants for me, then He'll definitely make time. =] i wanna be free. -bj

it's funny how ee40 has been my favorite class so far. =P who woulda thunk that a class so similar to physics 7b could somewhat interest me. haha ... but that's only 'cuz we're doing the easy stuff right now. haha ... i hear it only gets worse ... but as for now, i like ee40 lectures. =] ee20 on the other hand seems to be a total waste of time. i hate it. with a passion. bleh. yuck, yuck, yuck. i don't think my professor or the textbook he wrote are very good. cs is ... eh. lots of work. kinda hard, too, but bearable so far ... history ... well, it's not as cool as i thought it would be ... but it's not too bad ... i have a paper due next friday ... haha ... i'm glad i'm taking it p/np, though ... i don't have much time to focus on history ... oh yeah, and we have our first group presentation on next wednesday. my group's topic? a three minute presentation on women's response to the stamp act. greeeeeeeeeeeeat. =P haha ... my group seems pretty cool, though ... i hope i don't have to meet with them outside of class, though ... don't have much time already as it is. =/ there are soooooooooooooo many aacf foothill (la loma) freshies ... i was gonna buy them some ice cream, but i have to figure out how many to buy ... haha ... derrrrrrrrrr. and i'm so sick of william hung ... now, i like william hung as much as the next guy, but i don't need to hear interviews, watch videos, watch parodies, and hear william hung remixes ... CHIIIIII. =P plus someone in my ee40 discussion was singing "she bangs" today, too. ugh. so sick of it. =P i think i'm getting sick. meh. or maybe i just need more sleep. i think i'll take a nap before i tackle my ee40 prelab/homework and my cs61c lab/project and my history 121b reading/essay. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack. so much work. haha. God will sustain. =] lookin' for love in all the wrong places -bj
so pastor brian from newsong church came to speak to us ... haha ... he did a GREAT impersonation of dave fong, our staffguy, who happens to also be his brother-in-law. very good message about passion ... and about how Jesus stands with us in our shame ... he encouraged all of us to pray with someone next to us, too ... so i had a chance to pray for me and angus ... had a good walk with the foothill clique. haha ... there are like 12 aacfers from foothill ... all but one of them are from la loma ... haha ... so i had fun talking with them on the way back from aacf ... =P had good times with brian toy again ... haha ... good stuff. so it goes -bj

i often wonder why it's sometimes so hard to let people serve you. i think for me it's tons easier to serve than to be served. i wonder why that is. even in the Bible, the disciples said, "no, Lord ... you're not gonna wash MY feet ..." do we have some sort of superiority complex where we feel we're too good to be served? so i was at tim's yesterday, and they had dishes in their sink from dinner, so i started helping them wash ... tim grabs me and tells me that i don't have to be the one who serves all the time (because i normally try to help them clean up their place after our small group meeting) ... i guess in that case, i wasn't even rejecting being served, but rather trying to always be the one who served. but in other cases, i notice myself not letting others serve me ... i always refuse tim when he offers to drive me home ... even though i know that he just doesn't want me to have to walk all the way back to my place ... i guess i have to learn to let people serve me sometimes, too ... i know i get joy out of serving others ... why deprive others of that same joy? =] anyhoo, my small group is great ... especially timma and boytoy. =] i love those guys. chile, jamaica, peru -bj

i may never go to my small group again. =P haha ... here's the story ... so all yesterday and today i was IMming tim asking him what i should make for small group today. he never responds. finally i get a hold of him ... and he says he'll call me once he figures out what he's making ... he says he'll call at 5:30. at 6, he calls and says that he hasn't had time to make anything so we're all gonna fast. immediately i'm suspicious 'cuz he said that last time we didn't have food and the girls ended up making food for us. anyhoo ... then brian toy tells me to call him 15 minutes before heading over for small group. then i'm really suspicious ... i tell brian to tell tim that i won't come to small group today. heh heh ... i knew they were planning something; i just wanted to take away the element of surprise at least ... anyhoo, i get to tim's place sorta late ... (like twenty minutes) ... find everyone eating. tim's made a big meal of spaghetti and chinese chicken salad ... (the salad was good.) =] i smell a cake in the oven ... heh heh ... anyhoo, everyone's mad that i showed up ... we had our Bible study (I Cor 2) ... then we're getting ready to leave. tim says that they have a present for me in the fridge ... they bring out this big chocolate cake. the bring it towards me and sploosh it in my face. haha ... i saw it coming, too ... anyhoo ... got up my nose and in my ears ... got everywhere ... =P then they took a picture ... i just showered again and i'm still getting chocolate out of my ears. yeah, went to their bathroom to clean myself up ... when i got back out, they had an ice cream cake for me and a card. heh heh ... but yeah, it was ... erm ... interesting. apparently they had just finished making the cake when i got to tim's apartment ... so my delay tactic backfired in my face ... =P yeah, well ... despite that, i love my small group. =] you're not listening. -bj
