hooray! think we have enough drivers now for norcal retreat ... michelle asked me to be a backup driver just in case, though. hopefully i won't have to drive ... =/

h2o vision night today ... mmm ... i dunno. i need to do some thinking. i liked a lot of what steve said about surrendering ... not sure if i agree with some of the c4 stuff he was talking about ...

sushi house. tuesday. lunch. jazz and amelia. haha ... we'll see if this one pans out ... =]

oh yeah, FINISHED DAVID BALDACCI'S Split Second. yay. very good ... i hear he's trying to write a sequel to that one ... i still want him to write a sequel to Last Man Standing ... that book was uber cool ... hostage rescue teams and such. and the ending to that one was so unsatisfying ... =/

saw kristine ng today for the first time in a long while ... got a big hug from her ... =] romantic dinner ... valentine's day. my apartment. wanna come? amelia, kristine, and i are gonna cook. =] haha ... okay, it probably won't be romantic. maybe we'll get some candles just for kicks. =P

k, this post is just for posting's sake ...

fine ... i'll post something substantive ... erm ...

i think i'm getting sick ... and my back is sore. boooooo.

in other news ... ummmmm ... it's amazing how quickly my arm muscles have deteriorated ... i used to do ten to fifteen sets of fifty pushups a day during the summer ... now it's a struggle just doing one set ... =/

joellen offered to go with me to sushi house today. i got her message too late because my cell phone wasn't on. again. =[

i think dave is moving into the same apartment that tina, kirby, and sarah live in ... that's pretty cool ...

i wanna sing

yay! got todd agnew's "grace like rain" cd. =]

today was goodah.

recap:
at 11:30 i drove to dave's house to pick him up so we could meet our other accountability partner, henry, for lunch. we went to this asian place in milpitas. very good. it was pretty cheap, too. =] (i had fried rice. surprise, surprise.) anyhoo ... we had a good time catching up ... sharing prayer requests ... encouraging ... it was great. we spent a long time just talking ... i think we finished eating and spent an additional forty minutes or so just talking. =]

after lunch, dave and i went to angela's house. =] her doggie is cute. =D angela's phone is berserko. it rang probably fifteen or so different times in the short while we were there ...

angela had to go work in sf at five ... she wanted me and dave to go with her ... dave said he'd only go if i went ... angela said she wanted help with her computer ... so i gave in and went with them. basically she used us to ride in the carpool lane. =P anyway, we drop angela off at work, and she gives us the keys to her apartment and gives dave the keys to her car. dave and i go to stonestown. yes, i know. two guys shopping. it was kinda weird. i kept thinking that people around us were looking at me and dave like we were a couple. it was very disconcerting. =P haha ... plus dave kept asking me what he thought of various clothing items. haha ... we needed a girl to shop with ... guys don't shop too well together unless they're looking for something specific ...

we ate dinner at the mall food court. =P i had a smoothie. haha ... but we just sat there for a long time talking about different things ... school, church, relationships, family, aacf ... it was great. we always find lots to talk about ...

then we went to angela's apartment ... it's HUGGGGGE! three bedrooms and three bathrooms? doood. and her family room is ginormous. wow. it's amazing. haha ... anyhoo ... yeah. dave and i hacked into angela's computer ... didn't really find anything wrong with it. (she's evil. it was all a ploy) then played gunbound, which she conveniently had installed on her comp. =] yay.

picked up angela from work at around 8:15 then went back home. i had a good time talking with angela on the ride back. we had good times reminiscing over high school mandarin classes ... haha =] but yeah. good catching up. =D

looks like my slo trip is postponed indefinitely ... vir's schedule is insane ... basically she's only free on fridays ... and i carise and i both can't make it friday ... so yeah. =/ maybe in the early summer ...

things i still need to get done before i go back to berkeley:
get a haircut
buy some jeans
go to the bank
write Christine a song. =P
meet with ev

and so it goes

reading another david baldacci book. yay. it's good so far. =] it's based on the secret service this time. mmm.

a retarded joke that i stole from ben:
mildly funny jokey-wokey:

In DC, a guy sees a sign in front of a house: "Talking Dog for Sale."

He rings the bell and the owner tells him the dog is in the backyard. The guy goes into the backyard and sees a black mutt just sitting there.

"You talk?" he asks.

"Sure do," the dog replies.

"So, what's your story?"

The dog looks up and says, "Well, I discovered my gift of talking pretty young and I wanted to help the government, so I told the CIA about my gift, and in no time they had me jetting from country to country, sitting in rooms with spies and world leaders, because no one figured a dog would be eavesdropping. I was one of their most valuable spies eight years running.

The jetting around really tired me out, and I knew I wasn't getting any younger and I wanted to settle down. So I signed up for a job at the airport to do some undercover security work, mostly wandering near suspicious characters and listening in. I uncovered some incredible dealings there and was awarded a batch of medals. Had a wife, a mess of puppies, and now I'm just retired."

The guy is amazed. He goes back in and asks the owner what he wants for the dog.

The owner says, "Ten dollars."

The guy says, "This dog is amazing. Why on earth are you selling him so cheap?"

"Cause he's a liar. He didn't do any of that."

i'll admit, i laughed ... but then i rolled my eyes afterwards ...

don't wanna fall asleep

depth of mercy can there be?
mercy still reserved for me?
can, my God, your wrath forbear?
me, the chief of sinners, spare?

it's my only hope
You're my only hope
it's my only hope of heaven
at the cross forgiven ...

***

my God, my God
why has thou accepted me?
when all my love was vinegar to a thirsty king
my God, my God
why has thou accepted me?
it's a mystery of mercy and the song that i sing

mmm ... caedmon's call ... good stuff ...

it's my only hope

so i'm a complete doofball.

i was planning to visit vir next friday, but i realized that next friday is the 16th ... the start of the AACF norCal retreat. meh. for some reason i thought the week of the 16th was two weeks away instead of one ... blah. so ... ummm ... not sure when i'll be able to go to cal poly ...

my tentative schedule ...

today - (*maybe*) start doing yard work ... it's freezing cold right now, though ...
wednesday - lunch w/ my accountability partner, dave ... and maybe w/ other accountability partner, henry (but he lives further away)
thursday - bank / buy some jeans
friday - no plans as of now.
saturday - grandma's ... maybe to berkeley for lunch w/ michael, michael's mom, and jini ...
sunday - church ... playing first hour? i dunno my piano schedule ...
monday - maybe go up to slo
tuesday - maybe come back down
wednesday - ev's place w/ pat & michael
thurday - go back up to berkeley
friday to sunday - norcal retreat
monday - rest
tuesday - school starts ... bah.

so, i hear that only berkeley only has rides for about 50% of the people going to norCal retreat ... if we don't get any more drivers, seats will be reserved for berkeley praise team members / berkeley norCal retreat small group leaders ... the rest will be done by lottery. i dunno ... i would drive ... but ... erm ... yeah. it would kinda be messy for me ... but we'll see ...

it's so cold right now!

baby, it's cold outside

meh.

so i'm sad. i finished david baldacci's Total Control. it was a very fast read, but it was very sad. =[ well ... melancholy, i guess. come to think of it, most of his books are. but still ... i prefer happier endings. pretty good book, though. plane crashes, computer hackers, hostage rescue teams, hired hit-men ... it had it all. in light of recent global events, it was a pretty plausible plot, too ...

i watched chicago today while i was running on the treadmill. mmm ... i liked it a lot. and i'm not much of a movie buff, either. it was so artistic. tons better than moulin rouge. ugh. didn't like that movie. but chicago ... man. i loved how they seemlessy integrated the actual story with the stage productions. the prison tango was very artistic ... especially how they used the red ribbons. fascinating. i found richard gere very good. it wasn't so much the way he spoke but more his facial expressions. i felt he fit the role very well ... i thought renee zellwegger and catherine zeta-jones were good, too ... but richard gere as the lawyer and taye diggs as the emcee ... they were awesome. catherine zeta-jones has a very good voice ... renee and richard gere had decent voices, but you could tell that they didn't have the same quality. i don't know why queen latifah was nominated for awards in her role ... she wasn't terrible, but i didn't think she was particularly great, either. the guy who played roxy hart's husband was EXCELLENTLY casted, though. mmm ... very good, very good.

he had it coming

brrrrr. cold.

something's wrong with my eyes. they burn for some reason. blah.

i heart david baldacci. =] if anyone gets a chance, read some of his books if you're into thrillers ... they aren't so much legal thrillers ... but they are good books ... fast reads. =] yum. i recommend The Winner and The Simple Truth ... although all of his stuff is good ... not that i've read all of his stuff yet ... but i intend to. =]

i've been thinking about the cats we used to have lately. weird. i miss my cats, but not the messes they made. =]

it's just emotions
