what does the phrase "needs more cow bell" mean? ?:| nate left that message on my xanga ... and he changed his xanga title to "pretty decent life ... but needs more cow bell." i'm baffled.

so i found out my cousin lives on easy street. literally. that's the name of the street he lives on. =P

my dad and auntie were discussing why the mighty ducks are named the mighty ducks. "because mighty mouse was taken." ... "and i guess they couldn't call them the mighty poohs." =P

i'm feeling kinda sickly. =[

joellen, on the entry where i posted steve's encouraging AIM message. "yay! you get loooooooooove, bryan!" ... that i do. =] alex, steve, joellen, tim, ben, zeeho, aimee ... so many people have been encouraging me and giving me lots of love. i'm truly blessed. thanks, God. =]

not looking forward to this seven page paper coming up ... luckily it's my second to the last one. haha ... yeah, it's not even my last one. fortunately, i think my last one is an in-class writing assignment ... so it shouldn't be AS bad as writing out a whole paper ... bah.

i don't like Christmas music before december ... or after Christmas day. mmm ... yeah. i think it's too much of an overdose ...

okay, that was a very random post ... anyhoo ... playing piano for 2nd hour tomorrow ... gotta find something to play for offertory ... (i still don't know how to spell that ...)

later, kids.

boy, once i'm done with this cross-stitching project ... i won't ever wanna see another bunny again. bah. =P i'm almost done with the gray for the third bunny. (there are four bunnies) ... you'd think that's a good thing since bunnies are mostly gray. unfortunately, there are four shades of gray. (dark gray, gray, light gray, pale gray.) ... yup. i'm almost done with the gray. then i still have to do all the other grays, plus the bits of green, orange, pink, brown, black, white, various shades of blue ... bah.

so i will not see you h2oers for the next couple of weeks ... essay this weekend and a final the next friday night. i'm beginning to wonder whether or not i should continue being a ct leader. it's impossible for me to make every meeting ... hmmm ... more prayer is needed, i think.

good grief.

"love unfailing
overtaking my heart
You draw me in
finding peace again
fear is lost in all You are..."

BEFRIENDED, Matt Redman.

Befriended, befriended by the King above all kings
Surrendered, surrendered to the friend above all friends

Invited, invited deep into this mystery
Delighted, delighted by the wonders I have seen

This will be my story
This will be my song
You’ll always be my Saviour, Jesus
You will always have my heart

Astounded, astounded that Your gospel beckoned me
Surrounded, surrounded but I’ve never been so free

Determined, determined now to live this life for You
Your so worthy my greatest gift would be the least You’re due

You will always have my heart

my day was great. =]

so i'm alone right now ... pretty odd considering it's almost 10:30 and i'm the first one back. today the three of us all had different potlucks to go to ... i had a potluck at aacf, michael went to a thanksgiving dinner at mary lou's place, and chi went to his friend peter's place ... wow.

tabled today ... fun times w/ vicky at the table ... and aimee asking everyone what they were bringing to the potluck. =P

came back ... steve couldn't come over. =[ made bagel bites ... kept setting of the alarm ... jeannie came over again ... asked if we wanted anything from williams&sonoma ... said she'd buy as a frying pan as a Christmas present. she's soooooooooooo nice! we told her not to, too! hopefully she'll let us pay for the frying pan ... because the stuff at Williams&Sonoma is very expensive ... but she gets 40% discount ... but still ...

aacf potluck ... doooooooooood so much food. =] had a good talk with daisy and amy ... also had fun beating up a lil on brian ... and good times with steve ... and apparently today i was a hydrogen molecule. o.0 jason kept orbiting me ... ?:|

the food was good ... then we had a time of open testimonies ... two or three different guys shared how they found out that angus came to know the Lord ... what an awesome testimony even though angus himself didn't share it! ... and i sat across the room from aimee and joellen ... and both of them were trying to get me to share something ... =[ haha ... they were both mouthing from across the hall "share something!" ... lol ...

i'm grateful for aacf ... and for all the people there that have impacted my life this semester. =]

from NATE

Sometimes I'm almost positive that my heart, dark and brittle, is simply going to stop. Too bruised to love or enjoy, simply supplying just enough blood to all the right body parts, and nothing extra. It's nights like these that I feel incapable of love, to God or anyone else. But if there's anything I've learned these last couple months, it's not just about offering your perfect, flawless heart to God, but offering your withered, two-copper-coins worth of a heart to God and to His people. It's times like these that we need to surrender, to serve God and our brothers and sisters, and allow our hearts to be disciplined in patient love. It's times like these that God turns a heart of coal into a diamond. Perhaps.

just got back from the uber dc ... thanks DAN or JUSTIN ... not sure who swiped me in ... anyhoo ... yeah, that was nice of those boys. =]

so ate with my small group ... man. i definitely cannot eat as much as i did last year ... i didn't eat anything today ... and i was really hungry when i got to the dc ... but all i could eat today was half my salad and a quarter of my noodle bowl ... AND IT WAS A NOODLE BOWL! MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE THING FROM THE DC LAST YEAR! and i didn't even get dessert ... =[ ... oh well ... at least my ability to drink has not diminished ... two glasses of milk and a glass of grape/apple juice. =] but it was funny ... whenever one of the guys got up to get more food, we all would POUNCE! haha ... soy sauce in their coke ... tabasco sauce in the orange juice ... lol ... no one really fell for it, though ... i drank the tabasco sauce that brian poured in my milk ... he even poured it in while i was looking ... but i didn't care ... then he ate the salad which i poured soy sauce on ... haha ... he gagged. yay! tim was the worst ... tim would go berserk whenever someone got up to get more food ... haha ... we are so immature. =[ keith made me laugh like CRAZY though ... he told me that he was eating an apple today and hurt his jaw so badly that he had to go to the tang center ... and the doctor told him he sprained his jaw ... LOL! so all he ate today was jello, rice, and soup. =[ poor keith ... it was pretty funny, though ...

i heart my small group. =]

steve is coming over tomorrow before aacf. yay. =]

oh yeah, and i saw TIFFANY at the dc! hooray! always fun seeing her.

prof lieberman: "sometimes i think that i'm a martian."

haha ... he's awesome. =]

so ... i need to learn the berkeley campus better ... today this lady asked me where moffit library was ... and i pointed at the big white building across memorial glade ... and she was like "no, that's the doe" ... i'm like, "oh. uhm ... i think it's somewhere that way ..." haha ... =[ i don't know our campus at all ... especially our libraries seing as i've never been in any of them ...

off to meet w/ dave and henry ... then grocery shopping ... then dinner at the DC! whoa!

had the best meal today that i've had in a long time ... or maybe it's 'cuz i was hungry ... but yeah ... chi made some beef and zucchini stir fry w/ a little black bean sauce ... and i made some cabbage and carrots ... it was yummy. =D

from albert ... the math major ...

Jesus and his disciples were walking around one day, when Jesus said, "The Kingdom of Heaven is like 3x squared plus 8x minus 9." The disciples looked very puzzled, and finally asked Peter, "What on earth does Jesus mean - 'the Kingdom of Heaven is like 3x squared plus 8x minus 9?'" Peter said, "Don't worry, guys. It's just another one of his parabolas."

hmmmmm ... slightly better than his "what do you get when you cross an elephant and a mountain climber" joke ... =P

played tennis with chi ... haha ... i was terrible ... started getting blisters, too, 'cuz the grip on my racket is dead ... =[

got some more of my essay done ... still need a page or so ... i think i'm getting sick. =[

played gunbound yesterday ... me, pat, and ant versus vince, willy, and andrew ... haha ... it was pretty even. i finally became an axe in gunbound! w00t! =D

so God is awesome ... went to first pres today ... good message on being "peculiar" ... i wish i heard the other weeks of his message series ... the pastor briefly talked about what the previous weeks were about ... it was very interesting ... he compared the Christian walk to the Israelite's exodus and later exile ... very neato ... dave tsai was at first pres, too ... so i had someone to sit next to me ... =] saw ben, too ... then, as i was walking back to my apartment, i noticed this other guy was walking in the same direction from first pres ... we were walking side by side for a while when we both glance over at each other ... it was isaiah from my physics discussion last semester! whoa! that was cool ... because i had no idea he was a Christian ... plus, he lives a floor above me in my apartment! that was neat! so we had a good talk walking back to our apartment ... he told me how he eventually settled on first pres and stuff ... yup. very cool. =]
