whew. long day today. i just got back from ikea. me, michael, chi, and mr. & mrs. wong were there for like four hours today. we bought TONS of stuff for our apartment. i was able to get my keys today and look around our apartment. it's pretty small, but very cozy. i like it. we were not able to buy a futon/sofa or a tv table/chair, though ... we still need those things. chi was smart and asked if they gave student discount. GOOD THING HE DID! we got 20% off everything we got! GOOD DEAL! anyway, i'm really excited to move in ... hooray!

i just saw this report on tv on Demeter Fragrances. Very interesting. Just take a look at some of the fragrances they have. They said on the news report that the "Funeral Home" fragrance really does smell like musty old people. They interviewed people, and many of them were wearing "dirt" cologne, because they liked the earthy smell. I think i'd like "mildew" ... ugh ... they also have weird stuff like "poison ivy" ... hmmmm ... some sound good, though ... i wouldn't mind smelling like apple pie, or creamsicles ...

i'm just a little unwell

so i was viewing my blog and i noticed that all of my egg thingies (a la weebl and bob) are not on the same line ... it looks quite ugly like that ... they all fit on one line on my monitor at school, though. i guess the resolutions are just different ... there are more avatars that i want to put on my title line, but my computer it retardo right now ...

i really must do some balancing of my checkbook. i went to the bank yesterday to deposit some money, and i got back a receipt of how much is in my account. i went back home and noticed that i actually have 300 more dollars than what i thought i had ... hmmm ... i don't know where that money came from, because i doubt i made a $300 calculation mistake in my checkbook ... odd.

so my lease starts today. yippee skippy. i will hopefully be able to move in next weekend. the summer is winding down. i'm getting ready to buckle down for fun times at berkeley. woohoo.

hoot hoot.

and she's buying a stairway to heaven

stupendous verses from isaiah 40 (one of my favorite Bible passages)

v10 See, the Sovereign Lord comes with power, and his arm rules for him. See, his reward is with him, and his recompsense accompanies him.
v11 He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.
v12 Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, or with the breadth of his hand marked off the heavens? Who has held the dust of the earth in a basket, or weighed the mountains on the scales and the hills in a balance?
v13 Who has understood the mind of the Lord, or instructed him as his counselor?
v14 Whom did the Lord consult to enlighten him, and who taught him the right way? Who was it that taught him knowledge or showed him the path of understanding?

v18 To whom, then, will you compare God? What image will you compare him to?
v21 Do you not know? Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood since the earth was founded?
v22 He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in.
v23 He brings princes to naught and reduces the rulers of this world to nothing.
v24 No sooner are they planted, no sooner are they sown, no sooner do they take root in the ground, that he blows on them and they wither, and a whirlwind sweeps them away like chaff.
v25 "To whom will you compare me? Or who is my equal?" says the Holy One.
v26 Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.

v28 Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.
v29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
v30 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;
v31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Wow ... I had to read through this several times as I was typing it ... what an awesome, poetic description of the matchless power of God. Not only is this a description of God's power, but it's a promise to all of us. God, the omnipotent and omniscient, promises to strengthen us when we're weak. How awesome is that!

so ... here's an update on my enrollment mess:

my advisor informed me that i MUST be enrolled in two tech classes. i had to totally re-adjust my schedule to fit this. i had to drop one of my poly sci classes. currently i'm enrolled in the following classes:

poly sci 118ac
math 54
math 55
history 5
psych 2

and i'm waitlisted on legal studies 103

my advisor says that it's possible to take 1 or 0 tech classes, but that i'd have to meet with the dean who's not in until september. he says in the meantime, i still must have two techs. i asked him if i could switch colleges before that, and he says it takes a semester to switch colleges. so now i'm getting further behind towards pursuing a legal studies degree. what a messy mess. and my schedule is no longer pretty, either; but that's the least of my worries.

through it all, though, i know that God still is good ... this will be one interesting semester, though ...

'cuz i'm falling down, falling down.

so i just found out i'm in big doo-doo ...

i forgot that since i'm still in the college of engineering, i still have to take two tech classes ... even though i'm probably going to switch colleges first thing school starts ... booooo ... so now i don't know what techs to take ... i'll probably take math54 (<---- is that a tech?) and maybe chem (<---- is that a tech??) hmmm ... but that throws off all of the poly sci/history/legal studies/psych classes i wanna take .... ARGH!

doop doop doop doop

i went to costco yesterday to look for a tennis racket, but they didn't have any there ... :-( i decided to buy a whiteboard/corkboard thingy for my apartment ... it's pretty cool ...

dum dum dum

so i'm going to get fingerprinted tomorrow ... i should have done it a month ago. in theory, i shouldn't have been able to teach at summer school because i could be a convicted child molester ... i don't even know if it's worth getting finger printed now, except i'm hoping that they'll give me my paychecks if i go ... :-D

i have my telebears appt on wednesday ... i have to start finalizing my schedule ... :-P

anthony burned me the last six episodes of naruto. now i'm all caught up! :-D ... good stuff, indeed.

so ... i was sitting in my evening sunday school class ("you and your Bible") when mr. chew, the teacher, starts asking me stuff about relativity? me! physics! i don't think so! .... i don't see why he didn't ask anyone else ... ack ... it was so disgusting ... he asked me about reversible processes and the probability of them occuring ... simple enough question, but i just don't like thinking about physics. then he started talking about electric fields and motors ... i was seriously feeling ill ...

mr. chew's a pretty interesting teacher, though, when it comes to Bible history and canonicity of the Bible ... i liked it. he's a MUCH better Bible teacher than physics teacher imho ...

i taught my cousins and sisters how to play ten-down ... won.
then we had a deuces "mini-tourney" ... first one to win three games ... won.

i'm a shark.

are you in the big fish?
